Since 1988, the Camp Thunderbird Charitable Foundation has been providing financial assistance to not-for-profit camps and subsidizing tuition for Camp Thunderbird campers in need. When you give to the Foundation, you send kids to camp. If you loved camp and want to help, please give now.
Camp changes lives.
Mission Statement
To make it possible for more children to attend camp by providing financial assistance to not-for-profit camps and by subsidizing tuition for Camp Thunderbird campers who otherwise would not have the means to attend.
The Foundation
The “Speedy and Honey Altman Memorial Camp Foundation” is now the “Camp Thunderbird Charitable Foundation.” Historically, donations made to the Speedy and Honey Altman Memorial Camp Foundation were shared between 15-20 not-for-profit summer camps and Camp Thunderbird in a ratio of 60:40, respectively. While many of our donors liked the idea of more of their donation helping kids attend other camps, many others wished that the majority of their donation went to help kids attend Thunderbird.
To meet both needs, we've created two separate and distinct funds under our Foundation umbrella: the “Speedy and Honey Altman Fund” and the “Allen ‘Moe’ Sigoloff Fund”. You can now choose where the majority of your donation has a greater impact. Donations to the Speedy and Honey Altman Fund will be directed to the not-for-profit summer camps and Camp Thunderbird campers at a 70:30 ratio. Donations to the Allen “Moe” Sigoloff Fund will be directed to not-for-profit camps and Camp Thunderbird campers at a 30:70 ratio.
Please note: any donations made to the Foundation and not specified to a particular fund will be divided evenly between the two funds.
